Our Dog Safety Visit

Jan and her dog Smuge came to visit.

Jan talked to us about dogs

She told us not to look in their eyes and it we are unsure about the dog we should be still.

Jan told us to make ourselves like a rock if a dog is running at us,

If we want to pat a dog we need to ask its owner and then the best place is under the chin on the dogs chest.  We each had a go.

We have been learning about Jesus.

Today we wrote a book together to show some of the things we have learnt.

Finding shapes

Today (and some of yesterday)  we went searching for shapes around the classroom and some of us went outside.    We took photos of the shapes and recorded ourselves talking about them.

Jesus Meal

Today we shared a  meal of foods that Jesus would have eaten.

We dressed in clothes like Jesus and sat around a floor mat that we decorated in the morning.
Some of us were very brave and tried some new foods, including olives, feta and figs.

The 'c' sound

The 'c' sound can be written in three ways, with a C, a K, or both, ck. Ck is usually used at the end of a word like back, tick and rock. Check out these things and listen for the sound.

ASB Getwize

Today we had a visit from the ASB  Money Smart Super hero.  It was lots of fun finding out about spending money on what we NEED and what we WANT. We also got a cool wristband to remind us to 'speed to money on our needs' and wait for our wants'.

We go fast for our needs and hold back for our wants.

Over the last few weeks we have been  learning about money.  We have looked at coins and notes and talked about how much they are worth and how  coins and notes can be used to make up different amounts.  

Today we worked in groups to make a given amount with smaller money and created pic collages to show it.  Take a look...
